Peggi Kroll Roberts introduces her newest series of DVD lessons. Each lesson features one aspect of painting for students to focus on.

All color and value masses meet other color and value masses to create edges. In this exercise we examine these edges through a still life. We also explore surface quality by using a palette knife to create an energetic surface with interesting edge control. A general rule of thumb is cast shadow edges are generally crisper than form shadow edges. Just be a keen observer and compare the edges and experiment.
