Ray Roberts introduces his newest series of DVD lessons. Each lesson features one aspect of painting for students to focus on.

High Key Value- Rocky Point- an 8"x10" 30 minute demonstration, was painted on location south of Carmel, California. 'High Key Value' refers to when all of the values on a grey scale of 1-10 are condensed to a scale of 1-5. This approach creates a light-filled painting and is more interpretive as it requires the artist to compare values and colors as opposed to copying colors they see. Be careful though! Once you've successfully painted this way, you may never want to paint any other way again!
