This class will be a refresher to some and an eye-opener to others. Assignment and examples will be posted weekly. As all professional artists will agree, the basics in drawing and light and form have their foundations in black and white. “Value does all the work; color gets all the credit!” Reviews and emphasis of the previous week included.

Photoshop corrections will also be a feature of this workshop with posted improvements to students’ paintings.

Week 1- Will be an emphasis on drawing. Blind contour drawing, measuring techniques, and triangulation are demonstrated and explained. Examples of Schiele, Sargent, Sorolla, Diebenkorn and other historically significant artists illustrate the importance of this approach.
