Each class is at least 1 hour (12 NOON PST - 1PM PDT) or (19:00 UTC - 20:00 UTC)

COURSE OUTLINE 

April 2nd

Series 1: Class 1 -- Feel Good Color -- Peggi will paint in watercolor from a  colorful still life and hope to lift our spirits in these dark days.  Color is a sure way to help with the doldrums—yellow, cheerful and happy; green, the hope for renewal with spring and the new growth; blue, a calming and peaceful restful color; pink, for love and companionship. You can work in any medium. Peggi is choosing watercolor so she can use the transparency of it and the white of the paper for greater saturation of the color.

April 9th

Series 1: Class 2 -- Bad Figure Proportions for Comic Relief -- Starting with Andrew Loomis’ Ideal Figure Proportions, Peggi is going to change the proportions, shift them around, and see what kind of results happen and hope they are hilarious. Then she’ll add color for more impact. She will work from photo reference and use marker, pencil, and gouache.  

April 16th

Series 1: Class 3 -- Unusual Flowers -- We’re going to make these up! You may want some flower reference, apply “genetic mutation” and see how inventive you can be. More to the exercise will be color harmony and how we compose one or multiple flowers on the page. 

April 23rd

Series 1: Class 4 -- Free Verse Composition -- Peggi is going to collect a selection of objects that will not relate to each other, other than being painted on the same page. Her goal is to start somewhere on the page with one object and expand randomly from that point painting the other objects. She’ll give a thought to the spacing, but she aims to keep any “plan” to a minimum. She’ll demonstrate using oil on canvas board.
