Peggi painted her demo this morning in Costa Mesa, CA at her son's home. Initially, the plan was to do a demo on the beach, but bad weather moved in and changed those plans pretty quickly. So, Peggi decided to paint a still life of a stick of butter on a plate and added a splash of red by adding a napkin to the composition. The focus of this lesson was on "applying paint." Peggi gets a lot of questions on "how to use" gouache. She emphasizes trying things out. Try it as an impasto or transparently. You'll find your way. Below is the demo, and the next two images are two practice demos she did yesterday.
